Lauren Harrington CMHC, Clinical Lead

*Accepts HMHI, Medicaid Plans, Self Payment & CJC Partnerships

I specialize in treating anxiety, OCD and related disorders like body focused repetitive behaviors, and other common comorbidities such as depression. I love working with children, adolescents, and young adults. I have a special spot in my heart for working with women of all ages and helping them find self-compassion, defining and implementing boundaries, and finding empowerment within their life. I am licensed in the state of Utah as an Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I have a Bachelor of Science in Special Education with an emphasis in ages birth to five, and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology. Over the last decade, I dedicated my time to working with children and families, and solidifying my specialty within clinical practice in the last five years.

I practice strictly via telehealth and have been blown away with the relationships that can form online. In the height of the pandemic, I found myself worried I would get sick after a client was coughing during a session!

I believe everyone can find peace and empowerment in their lives while living authentically and bravely.

I specialize in treating kids, teens and young adults, ADHD, Depression/Anxiety, Perfectionism, Chronic Pain, OCD, Grief, LGBTQIA+ and have limited availability in Farmington and Telehealth.

I am a compassionate and non-judgmental professional with an M.S. in Counseling Psychology in Mental Health  from Chaminade University of Honolulu. I foster a safe and trusting environment for my clients by practicing active listening and collaborating with them as the experts of their own experience. I help clients explore new perspectives and develop treatment plans that align with their lives and goals. My approach centers on partnership and empowerment, allowing clients to discover their own path toward healing and growth. I am a strong team player who values collaboration, communicates effectively, and embraces feedback as an opportunity for professional growth. My mission as a therapist is to help clients step into their power and build a strong sense of inner strength and determination to show up for themselves.

I previously worked with at-risk youth who required extensive trauma-informed care, meeting them where they were in their healing journey. I facilitated four group therapy sessions per week at a homeless youth shelter and served as a trusted outlet for young clients processing violence and neglect. Through goal setting and small, achievable steps, I helped them align their mental health with their life aspirations, empowering them to show up in society wholeheartedly.
